We know that the vast majority of us care about young people, and at the same time UK business, it’s in all our interests that both do well. Bringing this together is education and careers education; our schools/colleges and training providers all want to help young people find the pathway that best suits them. Their work, on a daily basis concentrates on developing the skills of young people so they can take advantage of potential career opportunities.
The challenge is always to do it better and is something that we believe that we can contribute towards.
How to do it?
In hand, with our partner, Rushcliffe Borough Council, we’re going to be holding a ‘Careers and Enterprise Company’ Roadshow event on Wednesday 28th June at the brand new Rushcliffe Arena.
The event aims to bring the world of work and education together, so we want employers and schools to attend.
What will we provide? in a few words, entertainment, information, examples, useful contacts and opportunities to develop new initiatives that seek to benefit young people and business.
The event will incorporate a ペチャクチャ, (Pechakucha) style of presentation. Developed in Toyko, this is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (6 minutes and 40 seconds in total). The format; helps keep presentations concise and fast-paced and powers multiple-speaker events. We aim to entertain, inform and give delegates an opportunity to make direct contact with people who can help.
We’ll also showcase best practice directly involving young people and how they’ve acquired enterprise skills.
Finally delegates will get the chance to join a local initiative to drive this agenda forward, not just talking but we’ll help you start the walking.......
