NGi have successfully secured €211,000 in funding for a Nottingham based company.
We worked closely with SASIE Limited, a small business enterprise based in Nottingham that operates within the Low Carbon and Renewable Technology. They have a passion for educating people and creating a better understanding of how these technologies can radically change the way we live .
Working together and with their supply chain, which is largely based in Germany, we established a partnership with a local Multi Academy Trust and put together a programme focused around the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths). The programme provides an opportunity for the Academy Trust's Year 12 & 13 students, by enriching their main learning programmes and by highlighting to them the wide range of careers and employment opportunities in this rapidly expanding sector.
The funding will be used to take approximately 100 students and accompanying staff to Germany for 2-weeks to contextualize the students learning through a range of activities including, employer workplace tours, employer talks and a range of low carbon and renewable sector based activities. All of which will leave the students with a better understanding of the careers available to them after they have finished their studies and better equipped to compete for these careers.
